Le Corbusier termine la chapelle en 1955, à l'emplacement d'un ancien édifice détruit par un bombardement en 1944.

Jean Prouvé, vingt ans plus tard, construit le campanile, que Le Corbusier avait jugé inutile. Il accueille les cloches de l'ancienne chapelle.

Renzo Piano réalise le monastère Sainte-Claire, à demi enterré au pied de la chapelle. Occupé par une communauté des sœurs Clarisses, il est consacré en 2011.

J'ai bien sur été attiré par la modernité de ces réalisations, mais le potager m'a tout autant inspiré : Les filets de protection m'ont fait penser à un cortège de nonnes dont les voiles flottaient au vent.

I have of course attracted by the modernity of these achievements, but the vegetable garden inspired me just as much: the protection nets made me think of a procession of nuns whose sails floated in the wind.
